Northeast Pennsylvania Film – Pocono Mountains (Poconos)

The film industry has a rich heritage in Northeast Pennsylvania and that tradition continues with hundreds of films shot in northeastern Pennsylvania since 1912. DW Griffith was one of the first filmmakers to discover the natural backdrop of the Pocono Mountains shooting both “The Informer” and “A Feud in the Kentucky Hills” in the region. Since that time, films like “Wet Hot American Summer”, “Lies I Told My Sister”, “The Molly Maguires”, “Blue Valentine” and hundreds of others have been filmed in Northeastern PA.
