Gail Kimball Goss died Monday, Sept. 19, at Sun Coast Hospice Care Center, St. Petersburg, Fla. She was born in Detroit, Mich. on March 6, 1939.
Gail spent her school years in Pittsburgh, Pa., and graduated from Presbyterian University Hospital School of Nursing. As a non-traditional student, Gail earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eckert College, St. Petersburg, Fla,, her home for the last 48 years. Gail worked there at Bayview Medical Center for more than 20 years, primarily in oncology.
Gail had an active civic and social life and was a blood donor, Hospice volunteer, clogger, traveler, and treasurer of the Pinellas County Nursing Oncology Society.
From 1970 to 1974, Gail and her family lived in Warren, while her husband, the Rev. Richard Goss, served as assistant minister at First Presbyterian Church of Warren.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Wendy McCain, Warren, Pa.; her sons: John Goss and Jeffrey Goss (Sue) of Florida; grandson, Charles Darling (Tara); and great-grandchildren: Warrick and Sloane of Arizona. She is also survived by step-granddaughter, Andrea McCain (David); and great-granddaughter, Jayda of Ft. Myers.
She was preceded in death on July 4, 2022, by son-in-law, Command Sergeant Major Jock McCain, Warren, Pa.
Gail was memorialized on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Lakeview Presbyterian Church, St. Petersburg. She donated her body to medical research.
